This page explains what happens to your personal information when you use dolezalconsulting.co.uk. It is written to be read, not to protect anyone from a court case.

The short version. Two things on this site collect anything about you: the contact form and the booking calendar. If you say yes, Google Analytics also counts your visit. Nothing here profiles you for advertising or sells anything about you to anybody.

Who is responsible

When you fill in the contact form

The form asks for three things: your name, your email address and a few sentences about your project. We use them to reply to you and to talk about the work you are asking about.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests. You asked a business a question about its services, so answering you is what you would reasonably expect.

Your enquiry arrives as an email and is stored in our customer records so we can keep track of the conversation. If it turns into a piece of work, the details stay with the project file. If it does not, we delete the enquiry after two years.

We do not add you to a mailing list because you used the contact form. That only happens if you ask for it separately.

When you book an introductory call

The booking calendar on the booking page is run by Calendly, an American company. It sits inside our page rather than sending you off to another website, but it is still Calendly's service and it loads their software into your browser to work.

When you book, Calendly collects your name, your email address and whatever you type into their form, then passes the booking to our diary. Calendly also sets its own cookies and can see your IP address and time zone, which is how it shows you the right times.

Calendly is responsible for what it does with that information, and its own privacy notice covers it: calendly.com/privacy. If you would rather not use it, email hello@dolezalconsulting.co.uk and we will arrange a time between us.

Cookies and what loads from elsewhere

When you first visit, a box asks whether we can count your visit with Google Analytics. Nothing is sent to Google until you press Accept, and Reject is just as easy. Either way, the site remembers your answer in your browser for 12 months, so it does not ask on every page.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies whose names start with _ga. They last up to two years. They tell us which pages people read, roughly where visitors come from and what device they use. Google does not get your name or email address, and we do not use any of it for advertising.

The lawful basis is your consent. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you switch to Reject, the Google Analytics cookies are removed.

Four things load from other companies, and each one can see your IP address when it does.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can also object to us using it at all, and ask for a copy in a form you can take elsewhere.

Email hello@dolezalconsulting.co.uk and we will answer within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

Where your information is kept

Enquiries are held in our email and customer records, both provided by suppliers working to our instructions. Calendly stores booking data on servers in the United States under the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google Analytics data is held by Google, also in the United States under the same framework.

We keep enquiry records for two years, and client project records for seven years after the work ends, which is what our accountants and insurers need.
